For a long time now ive wanted to get the front of the mk3 just that little bit lower. The rear rests on the arches a treat with the hallowed rim-in-fender look, but it was a different story at the driving end. There was only one solution. Raise the turrets and see to a number of notches along the way.

The week leading up to Edition 38 had seen all manner of notches taking place, from wishbones to driveshafts, but we were still 25mm off the perfect stance.

It was time to raise the bar.. change location [from my house in london to that of Lathams in Wales] and get shit did. Time to raise the suspension turrets, and fast.

150 miles down it was time for step one; Inspection

a jig was made so that everything lined up after the turrets were put in place 30mm higher.

a little hot,

and were good to go. Latham inspecting his handy work. Too jazzy?

Next up, a little grinding

Things were looking up.

lining everything up.

and a quick comparison shot.

'did i mention id bought some bodywork hammers, james?'

Time for turret 2. This should be a little easier. Second time round things always are... arent they?

All that was left to do was throw it all back together.

and the results? Well, shes laying frame.. so for now, that'll do
