Edition 38 2009 Part Four.

Once the site was set up and we had a base then we all spread out, consumed food and ale, the real Edition began, chatting and chilling with friends, people from Grounded, Unity Media, Wagenwerks, Players, E38, Dub-Marines and some other minor clubs came and chilled over at casa F6.  In turn we drifted round the site seeing others, never travelling too far from ‘home.

Friday saw all the F6er’s parked up in their cars catching some shut eye from a remarkably early time, everyone seemed to have learnt the lesson of last year, take it a ‘bit’ easier on Friday, it’ll hurt on Saturday. Everyone that is, except Kirby who kept us entertained with an uncharacteristic 30 minute RANT about lasses who put, shall we say, misleading photos in their profile shots, we assumed he wasn't talking about anyone we knew and left him to drown his anger…

The BM ended up parked by the wall in club camping, so I could get some sleep away from the MASSIVE lights, security were cunningly avoided using skills that cannot be shared. (lights down peeps, lights down.) 

Horizontal

Morning has broken, and so was Kirby, everyone else was in fine form ready for some home grown entertainment, “Hai” to everyone we spoke to on the PA, hope you enjoyed the Home and Away rendition, it was emotional. One lad in a wife beater got a little feisty but he soon calmed down when he saw the physique of the MC.

Long.

It’s the best time at edition, nothing to worry about, knowing that you’re gonna have a great night, just chilling on the grass with mates, chatting rubbish, nowhere to go, no responsibilities.

 [Serious voice] I did walk around Edition and there was a different vibe this year, more people for whom chilling out, and mixing with like minded people wasn’t what it was about, I know this reflects society as a whole, but there was a different vibe, and no, I don’t have the answer to fix it. The toilets, yes I do have some ideas…..[/Serious Voice]

 Wheely Skids.

Load of peeps came and dropped by to enjoy our campsite, thankfully nothing went walkies, we left all our music and kit out all day as on previous years.

 Preparing for evening we just needed some petrol for the genny, the station being, what, half a mile away, Steven Doe was dispatched in Stanton’s 4mo for juice. He’s been a long time, he has hasn’t he. Ah well, he’s probably gone to KFC. Now this is a long time.. oh wait what’s that noise, now that is odd, I’m absolutely sure that car had 3 wheels when it left, oh it has got 4 wheels, it’s just they’re not all properly attached.

 Somehow, for unknown reasons, a piece of F6 engineering had failed, this was un-chartered territory, I mean sure, Rich had to completely rebuild and time his engine on the stand, but that’s Rich, surely Ryan’s expertise and the might of Steven Doe’s cat like driving reflexes couldn’t be questioned. Let’s just say, we got to it, it was fixed, Ryan was calm, we’re back in the game.

 Noises off

Saturday evening, I know everyone has their own story, and there’s so much going on that it’s impossible to cover it all. Jumping around to great tunes in the dance tent, bumping sweaty backs with the lowdown kiddies, barbecuing meat in the darkness, drinking with people you don’t know, tripping over your own tent. Tick, tick, yep done that…

Soon after the main music was switched off people drifted back to the camp en-masse and the damage was assessed. All present and correct? One man down sir. Not to worry turf him in the back of his caddy, check on him in the morning and carry on.

 Big Pipes, we gotta go to BIG PIPES, what’s big pipes Chris? Oh, it’s a green tent full of Belgians, a beer, yes I will, thank you, yes, I like Belgium, they have many places to buy chips, you have a fridge, another beer? Well, as you have a fridge. Corner of eye, big man and flying hands, oh it’s a slapping competition, Grounded vs Wagenwerks, Grounded are winning, a challenger, who are you troubled stranger? You have cold eyes. Now you really do have cold eyes, those who were there will never forget the sight of big soft Buzz taking that man through HADOUKEN and into the quiet place. Buzz, we salute you and we are still, and will remain, your friends.

 Back to base, Scottish man, talking nonsense, cup of tea, is it daylight yet, one more man down, scuffling noises from the back of a car, Lath is trapped inside like a struggling Possum in a trap, it’s ok, it’s his car, sleep deep beautiful sleep….

What’s going on?? Lights noises.

 “Look in this car, there’s someone asleep, and in that one, and that one, there’s two in this. There’s people in all these cars!!”

 “Yeh, they’re F6.”

Sunday. Sunny Sunday.

 It was too, get up wake shine like a star, the star that you are, checked out, yeh, all got our wallets, no losses, no injuries, catching up and waking up. Tidy. Up.

What’s that you say, I doubt it, we got people to see, cars to admire, modifications to criticise this is Edition 38. OK, but get this site tidy, we might “WIN A PRIZE”, a prize, I’m on it, cue scuttling wombling and bam we have clean grass you could eat.

Sunday is the show and shine, we didn’t, well Chris did. Did he? I don’t know, he was there anyway. Possibly.

 Packing away the laughter was going well, too well, my back was turned, and on return.

 “6 CHAIRS.!!!”

“What’s this, why aren’t you all packing away?”

 “Kirby, jumped a chair, now Feast won’t let him stop until he dies or breaks and now we’re on six chairs”

“I’m having some of this.”

“SEVEN CHAIRS”

He did eight in the end too, the lanky freak.

Packed up, meh, seen the cars, what you doing Rich, just gonna look for stuff in the Rubbish, hey look, loo roll.

Sitting, chilling, time killing.

 What would happen if we tied 2 bikes together and rode away from each other really fast.
