Flush?

When coilovers went on, we had a seized nut that took a good hour and a half to come off with our limited tools, but it came of finally.

Wheels then took 10 days to get sent out from the US,

and when i finally got them (after paying through the nose for customs charges) and mounted the tyres, the tyres themselves turned out to be much to big.

So i ordered 35's the same day.. then my fitter was out, and i had to go through the books, which meant waiting around for 3 hours in the poring rain, for people who don't know stretch, to stretch there first tyre.

But at least they were on.

(With a 5minute tinting job to go with it)

Though i sill had a the problem i was trying to avoid with the smaller pro tyre. Subaru made there arches pretty shallow it seems, (due to it being a rally car i guess) And on hard cornering, the inside of the tyre was rubbing on the seem on the inner arch, quite substantialy. So it only meant one thing.

A trip to my best metal worker.

We then proceeded to drill the spot welds out, pull the seem apart, and stretch the metal to accommodate the tyres, by using a very big hammer, then seem weld it all back together. All in all, we gained about a inch or so of clearance, and it worked beautifully. And white we were at it, tidyed up the chassis leg notch that i did on my drive, to keep the drive shaft as far away from hitting the leg as possible. Paul is defiantly my favourite metal worker.

Then came my heat soak problem.

So a STI IC was ordered from Jap performance parts, for not alot of money, and boy did it make a diferance, little to no heat soak, and the power no longer levels off up in the revs, just keeps pulling, plus throttle response has been greatly improved.

All in all, its been an amazing few months of Subaru ownership, and with it getting a 9 page thread on a certain VW forum, getting nominated for best car at a German car meet, and generally making me smile at every turn, this will not be one of my projects that i get bored with, at least, lets hope not. And to anybody whos reading this, and has been involved with the car. Thanks for the response and kind words so far, i really honestly do appreciate it all.
