Gone But Not Forgotten - collegamento italiano

Here's a little history of my old Punto Mk2, i'm not one for words so i'll let the pictures do most of the chat. I bought the car completely standard, absolute minter.

'no i'm not going to lower this one, i promise...i'm fed up of that shit'.

of course that was bullshit, i knew i was going to lower it, a lot.

so a set of FK Silverlines were ordered along with some Keskin KT1's in 9x16 ET15. The so called 'experts' over on the chavvy punto forums guaranteed they would not fit.ever.in a million years.

O RLY?

So they were on, wrapped in 205/40s...no it wasnt nearly low enough and yes it scrubbed like a bitch with eczema. It recieved a lot of good attention at this point but i wasnt happy.

Here at F6 we like to push shit to the limit, so it HAD to go lower, and it had to cause more trouble.

So i'm thinking of ways i can get more low, more stretch...camber? yes. Oh but the 'experts' say that you cannot camber the rear end of a punto....right.

little photoshoot after dropping the car a bit more

At this point the car recieved a lot of love and a lot of hate, due to the 'dangerous' 4.5 degrees camber thanks to a few halfords spesh washers. I had to decide whether to sell up or go balls out.

I decided to pull the car apart and whip the old fibreglass out, around that time this happened too so the choice was simple, 195/40's all round.

I spent hours every night filling and sanding the fuck out of my bumpers with no real previous experience, it was good fun.

during this time i decided a set of spacers were needed to bring the wheels out a little further, think it was something like 25mm, i dropped the car again too.

a few weeks later the car was looking like a cunt and i loved it

next job was to get it painted, so i found a local bodyshop and got it booked in.

the result...

I was offered a feature with max power, at first i was up for it but then i just lost interest, the car was plastered over forums world wide, i'd got the pictures i wanted thanks to a few mates handy with their camera's...i just drove it for a while, i was content.

But, it still wasn't low enough for me or F6, so it went a bit lower again.

After that, i sold it. Goodbye Punto.

You may have seen a few other's looking quite similar, but i was the first to push the boundaries, without breaking the checkbook out ;-)

Thanks for reading, watch this space for my next project.

Let us not forget that "cambering" the rear of this car involved using different thicknesses of washers. Interesting way of lowering the safety threshold of a car.
